Designed, planned and implemented the merging of two diverse master server domains into one.

Planned and implemented the addition of 46 SAN media servers, 240 VTL tape drives and 18TB of Celerra storage at a major financial institute in the Middle East.

Planed and merged two master severs at a major bank in the Middle East using self-developed Perl scripts.

Improved programs using Perl and Ksh negating need for use of 3rd parties at Commerzbank saving €1m Euros. Later converted the Ksh scripts to Perl for use on Windows systems as well.

Improved Colt IT systems utilising ITIL to improve backup success from 68% to 99%

Overcame on-going system problems utilising innovative administrative solutions at Northrop

Analysed problems caused by incorrect implementation reducing backup time from 2 days to 15 minutes

Provided solutions for unsupported operating system modifying script to enable completion

Installed 3 tier web server troubleshooting networking problems using DNS & routing tables

Ran NetBackup for over 2 months without a call out at LCH, reducing need for staff to work overtime

Day to day operations of NetBackup on two master servers. Equalise the two.

Used several Perl scripts to ascertain the compatibility of the two master servers.

Design, plan and implement the merging of two NetBackup master servers (Windows to Solaris).

Implement OST and SLP using DD880’s.


2009 to 2009 – SENIOR CONSULTANT: Emirates National Bank of Dubai

Wrote Perl and bash scripts to merge three NetBackup 6.5.3 databases into one and making the old master servers media servers.


2009 to 2009 – SENIOR CONSULTANT: Abu Dhabi Investment Authority

Designed and planned the addition of 46 SAN Media servers

Designed and planned additional 240 VTL tape drives.

Implemented the above


2009 to 2009 – SENIOR CONSULTANT: University of Bedfordshire (Luton)

Added two new media servers to the current NetBackup 6.5.3.1 environment.

Added 76 new clients: Solaris Sparc & x86, SuSE 10 & 11, Windows 2003 & 2008.

Designed and documented the move of the master server and tape library to a remote DR site.


2008 to 2008 – SENIOR CONSULTANT/ TEAM LEADER: Walt Disney Corporation (Contract)

Responsible for coordinating a team of 10 NetBackup Specialists covering the EMEA region

Administered 10 NetBackup 6.51 master servers providing solutions to various problems

Responsible for reducing NetBackup problems and error rates to between 0% to 1%

Wrote Perl Scripts generating backup status reports in HTML pages for NetBackup & Backup.exe


2007 to 2008 – SENIOR CONSULTANT – Providing bespoke consultancy services

Responsible for configuring & testing networks having administrative access to all Unix servers

Coordinated disaster recovery plan configuring NetBackup on Solaris clustered master server

Responsible for backing up over 700 clients running Linux, Solaris, HP-UX and Windows

Provided solutions for NetBackup problems necessitating late working / overtime by staff
